I assume you can only vote once so I'm not so sure about this voting for yourself malarkey....
I suppose we could have stopped people from voting for their own entries Mephistopheles, but we couldn't really see any drawbacks from allowing them to do so.
It's not compulsory and looking at the current voting, at least one entrant has chosen to vote for someone else's entry (very magnanimous of you cider_and_toast

I am very sad to see that there appears to be one member who has resorted to cheating to try and win the competition.

To say I'm shocked that someone resorted to cheating is an understatement but what I don't understand is, I thought there were 14 entries so why have two of them been removed from the competition?

Jos the Boss I can think of several ways it could be done but I'm not going to list them and gethinceri I'm not in the running anyway..
I presume the person in question was creating multiple accounts to vote with but don't be getting ideas Jos and let's not dwell on it!
There is still a long way to go, and anyone who took the time and effort to compose one of the excellent articles listed above is in the running. I would add that there can only be one winner, but that should not take away from the quality of all the articles, and I really mean that.
