Technical What the fric are the FIA up to now?

Turning this on its head, why would any team that hasn't invested in FRIC agree without some sort of incentive? I'd be all "I can see what you're saying chaps, but ooh, life's so expensive nowadays, if only there was a way for you guys to help offset that ... say two hundred grand each?"

Which is why its such a joke the FIA trying to make out its 'up to the teams'. They knew they would never all agree so it was as good as banning it. Just through some fancy PR they can avoid taking the blame for it from the teams and, if it turns out to mess the racing up, the fans.

Its actually very Todt if you think about his politics whilst at Ferrari.

So far we have McLaren removing the system for this weekend and now Red Bull have announced they will do the same. Any team running the system can do so but runs the risk of protest by non users. Mercedes can't risk using it as their only rivals are playing it safe.

Mclaren and Red Bull were always going to take it off as they have nothing to lose. It can't make them any further behind and if they take it off and their rivals don't then they can bung in a protest and gain a good result.

Its that sort of thinking that means the teams will never all agree on things like this.
