Michael Schumacher

The Vettel thread surprised me as such that when I searched for a Schumacher thread, I could not find one. So I propose this thread for Schumacher because regardless of your opinion whether his return is succesful or not, I think we can all agree that there's always something to talk about whether he's had a good or bad race.
Historical Discussion may be allowed on the thread as long as it's on topic.
Enjoy! :)

No! please not Mankey Course! It was pretty dire. I think the plan to bring back Paul Ricard is much better.

Oh and whilst I agree of Valencia and Barcelona am I the only one who quite likes Korea and Abu Dhabi?

Aye!

Forgot to add India to that list too, all that hype but simply appalling...

Magny-Cours may not have been exciting to watch, but like Monaco and Hungary, it was great seeing the cars go around it! :)

As much as many don't like Schumacher, he can be an inspiration to everyone.

Is there a physical sport like F1 where a 43 Year old competes with 20-30 odd year olds and is still competitive?

Yeah but its not the same - everyone knows Michael is actually getting younger every year - just take a look at his face and see how smooth it is. The guy looks like he's never shaved.

Ralf is suppose to be the younger brother and look at the state of him!

I'm telling you Michael Schumacher has a portrait of himself in his attic thats ageing instead of him.

A 45-year old George Foreman knocked out 26-year old Michael Moorer in 1994 to become once again Heavyweight champion of the world...

There's not many in the modern era, I can only think of Pablo Maldini for Milan a few years back, was around 40 when he retired but he was mostly a sub or subbed off early in the secod half.

There's also goalkeepers, but goalkeepers last much longer than the rest of the football players.

Tennis players retire in their early 30s.

Sachin Tendulkar for cricket is one in a similar position to Schumacher, took a few years out, but came back and is still competitive, but he doesn't play all forms of the game. Plays the most physical form of the game though, and that is Test cricket.

I think schumi had a good chance of 3rd had his gearbox held up

I don't think he could have held off the Mclaren and the Red Bulls. I think he'd have been in front of Alonso and maybe on the back of Webber but I think a podium was pushing it.

I'm waiting for the first conspiracy theory as to why Schumacher looks so much faster than Rosberg this year
