Update on the medal status.
In 2008 we won a total of 47 medals: 19 gold, 13 silver, 15 bronze.
So far we have a total of 34: 16 gold, 9 silver, 9 bronze.

The totals are £264m and £49m.

Equestrian nearly £13.5m and rowing over £27m? Possibly the two most elitist sports there are...

Maybe one for the overload thread but theres been complaints about the number of our medalists who have come from public schools.

My school never had a rowing lake or cycling track, they actually stopped us playing hockey as it was deemed too dangerous to give us all weapons.

Now if joyriding was an Olympic sport then I could have seen my school producing some of the worlds best!
