The overtaking stats are meaningless. Lewis and Nico both roughly average 2 overtakes per race. But according to the overall drivers list http://cliptheapex.com/overtaking/drivers Perez is a driving god.
Hoping things get closer and more teams become stronger as the European season starts. McLaren are definitely making progress. I predicted they'll be much closer to the front by Silverstone and I believe that even more now. I don't think anyone will threaten Hamilton this season and he could well stay clear of the field for a number of years if he settles with Mercedes. I would rate Hamilton even higher than Alonso at his best. Alonso always had a small weakness, qualifying, many of his wins came off the second row, I can't find any weaknesses in Hamilton. As he has matured the mistakes have disappeared his qualifying is superb and his race craft has become flawless, I just can't see anyone touching him anytime soon and if it was necessary I honestly believe he could lift his game even further.
Well they are aren't they?
They were 3 seconds of the pace in Melbourne and now they're 2.8. Give it a few more years and they'll be threatening the pit-lane speed-limiter at this rate.
