Their net spending per season since 2006 is £84.3mil, aroud four times more than second placed Chelsea with £21.9mil. In fact they've spent around five times more money on players in the last five years than they had in the previous twenty or so.
I thought Abramovich bankrolling Chelsea was bad but City are taking it to a whole new level. They do look impressive this year but I can't wait for financial fair play to come in (although they're even trying to get round that by sponsoring themselves...).
Ok I'm a Man Utd. fan and I know we've spent big money on players over the years (net spend £11.5mil per season since 2006), but the difference between Man Utd., Arsenal, Liverpool and all the rest to City and Chelsea is that the money they spend is based on the sucess of the club with a lot of Man Utd's recent success built on the home-grown group of Scholes, Beckham, Neville etc.
