Football 2011/12 Football Season

Man United have enough strikers so he wouldn't have been able to get a proper game, just look at Michael Owen, he's bound to be a first team player for those two teams.

Who coincedently happens to be injured, but I get what your saying that with more money available the scottish teams would be able to compete and you may well be right

AVB did a really top job last season with Porto. The only way I can put it is that it was almost exactly like Mourinho's 2003, but they did it with a bigger margin.

They went the League season unbeaten, won the Cup and won the EL beating Villareal 5-1 at home in the semis (a bigger margin than Barca beat Los Submarinos Amarillos).

He's going to be a top class manager someday and its up to Chelsea if they want to benefit.

Their net spending per season since 2006 is £84.3mil, aroud four times more than second placed Chelsea with £21.9mil. In fact they've spent around five times more money on players in the last five years than they had in the previous twenty or so.

I thought Abramovich bankrolling Chelsea was bad but City are taking it to a whole new level. They do look impressive this year but I can't wait for financial fair play to come in (although they're even trying to get round that by sponsoring themselves...).

Ok I'm a Man Utd. fan and I know we've spent big money on players over the years (net spend £11.5mil per season since 2006), but the difference between Man Utd., Arsenal, Liverpool and all the rest to City and Chelsea is that the money they spend is based on the sucess of the club with a lot of Man Utd's recent success built on the home-grown group of Scholes, Beckham, Neville etc.

Rant over. I'm still fuming from the GP result...

Spurs = bankrupt
Chelsea = Big time bankrupt
Man City = uber bankrupt.

If anything happens to the respective owners, we have instant fatalities, the clubs will cease to operate.
