Football 2011/12 Football Season

It's a shame hardly anyone takes the League Cup seriously any more.

I will be taking the League Cup seriously, as long as Bristol City win tonight against Swindon. And I'll keep taking it seriously until we lose! After that, I couldn't give a monkeys LOL..... but the reality is that the League is the important thing.
Cup run, shmup run. Just do well in the Championship, Keef and League Cup be damned! :)

I know this goal was disalloewd (Barcelona - Napoli), but this is such a great overhead kick - better than Shrek's Rooney's:

Bristol City 0 - 1 Swindon Town

According to the Radio Bristol commentator, City capitulated poorly. What's the alternative, capitulating superbly? LOL

Oh well, it's only the League pup! Let's concentrate of the Championship League now Keef! (Pending the FA Cup..)

No Scottish team qualifies for Europe...

*sigh*

The early to mid 2000 days are long gone...Hearts getting beat at their own ground by tottenham by 5 goals...

Terrible...just don't know what to say.

I think that this is a case of money talks. What Scottish football needs is investment, not just the old firm, but the other clubs to, to stop it being a two-horse-race, as it always is.

Out goes Scunny...........

Yip I can see why Pardew is targeting the cups, another stellar performance....but hey our strikers finally got a goal.

The club lacks ambition and is run like a profiteering project. All we do is sign French league players that will play for money or jam.

I am a "casual" football viewer these days...when I was younger I used to follow every sport, still is the case.

But everyone that I know after the mid 2000s doesn't watch Scottish football even if they are fans of the two big clubs when they were younger.

I remember Hearts one year got a millionaire, that year they were challenging the top 2 then all of a sudden they sacked their manager and dropped off.

Both teams are in mega transition, Celtic haven't recovered ever since Martin O'neil and the great Henrik Larsson left, and the same for Rangers when Alex McLeish left.

Irish League=Scottish League

If Celtic or Rangers where in the Prem they would be fighting to escape relegation

The current state that they are in now...yes.

But if they were in the premier league they would have more money and would have a better team.

You only get 1 million pound for winning the Scottish League (don't know if that's changed), contrast to winning to the Premier League, I think you even get more money for getting promoted to the Premier League.

Money isn't everything, look at Stoke or Everton who are in debt
