Front wing failure! Pfft, a decent driver would have been able to keep the car on the road and set a faster lap time as the machine would have been lighter!

I was thinking the same thing... The nose is absolute concrete, whilst the silver outer layer seems to have disintegrated!

Interestingly, Lewis Hamilton managed more laps on his first day of testing (18) before having his crash than last year, where he only managed 14 laps before crashing!

Despite having to call things off half way through the day Hamilton ends up 2nd both for the number of laps completed and fastest time. Raikkonen in the Ferrari completed far more laps than anyone else and ended quickest on a day where most teams barely managed to get their cars out of the garage.

pirateplunder McLaren had hydraulic and electrical issues. I don't think they fired up the engine.
