Technical The End Of The Parabolica! Do we really need tarmac?

Makes me wonder why they just don't get rid of the wall seperating the new track with the old banking. It's not like the old banking is going to be used again any time soon. You could have a much larger run off area by doing that.

As long as a driver has one wheel still inside the white line, he should be fine, right? So the tarmac run-off area may allow drivers to enter the corner slightly faster.
Of course a smooth tarmac run-off area is the safest possibility, but I don't really like tracks that do not punish drivers for their mistakes. So what about using different kinds of tarmac? A strip of very slippery tarmac just outside the corner to punish the drivers for exceeding the track limits and then progressively more grippy tarmac to slow down the cars in case of an accident would be safe and challenging.

Not too sure on the work the engineers have done on Car 28's blown rear defuser to gain more grip from the exhaust gases........but a fantastic picture. Just look at 'The Eau' as it moves right, front left puncture, you and a few in the crowd are screwed.....
