The "Lotus" drivers have welcomed the change to the Parabolica. This isn't that surprising as one of them is the driver most likely to end up going off there in a race weekend.

Daniel Ricciardo made some interesting comments about run offs to the BBC on Sunday. On looking at Alonso going through at the start he commented that if that had been Monaco he'd be in the wall. He said while he could understand these long run offs being effective from a safety stand point which was important, they have taken away the punishment for a driver who makes a mistake and they make things too easy. I can't remember his exact words but it was along those lines anyway.

You can also say that if it had been a wall there Alonso wouldn't have tried to brake so late and we would have been denied some early race drama.
