I seem to recall MS and Ferrari doing okay without Newey. Nor did Merc have him last year. I don't think his presence is mandatory for success, although it undoubtedly helps.
Anyone see that only Williams and Mercedes will have the latest engines at the first test? Lotus may already be regretting going with Mercedes. Now how could have (Toto) made such a decision (Toto) to make Williams (Toto) the only other tea (Toto) to get to use the new motor (Toto), Paddy Lowe?
Testing starts soon? ...... not according to the BBC, already started.
Mercedes, with both drivers, have done 20 laps at Silverstone.
Didn't even disguise them as Stig lookalikes and paint the car in military camouflage!
But that's OK, nothing to see there, cos they's almost fully British innit - hardly German at all anymore.
Itching for the season to get underway now. I know testing is not 100% reliable as a guide but I'm sick of all the football coverage on sports pages. We need some good F1 stories to disagree on.... sorry I mean to chat about!
Wow the Mercs are quick. The Redbulls are in trouble 2 seconds down, though they could be sandbagging or on different fuel loads. Its hard to say as the testing times are irrelevant because the cars will be totally different by the first race. I'm expecting williams to be quickest with an end of day glory run.
