Sky F1 2012

I have to say i now actually love this intro. It's different to the classic one on BBC. It's very different in-fact, but i like the song and i like the fact it pictures all the old cars and memories. It's very fitting:-

Crofty was a bit excitable today and made a few mistakes.
Overall though a very enjoyable program.

Did anyone hear Natalie Pinkham's exchange with John Button?

NP: Here we are at the back of the McLaren garage by the bins. What are you doing out here?
JB: The toilets are out here.
NP: I spotted you having a fag.

What a pointless role she has.

I thought they under-used Anthony Davidson a bit, and Lazenby, Brundle and Hill were a bit tense, although it is the first race, so they can improve.

Right here's my view on the sky coverage so far from this weekend:

1. I though Hill and Lazenby worked well and will only get better once they've started to get into their roles.

2. Brundle and Crofty didn't work for me. Brundle to me wanted to be the lead commentator like he was last year and poor Crofty had to talk over him a lot. For me having listened to the Crofty/Davidson line-up over recent years i much prefer it.

3. Loving all the extra's you get with the Sky coverage. I followed Jenson Button on Board for a good period of the race.

4. Loved the coverage F1 is getting on Sky Sports News. They never let you forget it was on.

All in all it's a decent start, but will only get better in time. :).

I don't like Lazenby, Jake is much better, and I have to say Brundle is the heart and soul of the coverage, without him it would be so much worse. Also he did work well with Crofty in commentary but I did prefer him with DC.

I thought the music and the graphics during the warm up lap was crap, I much prefer just commentary, it adds to the build up of excitement, the calm before the storm so to speak.

Brundle and Croft were on a speed and excitable shouting marathon, although they did calm down a little as the race progressed. Personally, I don't like the 'horse racing' approach, and can only hope that they will return to measured commentary any time soon.

I don't like the Simon Lazenby dude, I see no point in Georgie Thomson, first of all, she does nothing, Davidson can do that job by himself, she's nothing special.

The commentray put me off the race, I have never liked David Croft's commentray, and the way Sky did F1, was kind of Indycar-ish.

I heard the BBC was even worse.
