Le Mans Le Mans and the WEC

am i missing something but in the bits ive seen its been commentary from Martin Haven & Antony Davidson. so are TNT using there own commentary instead of the preferable world feed

as is the way with the le mans you leave it for an hour & all of a sudden its gone from Porsche ferrari cadillac. to a ferrari 1-2-3 & 2 cadillac who started on front row. now 8th & 17th after 4 hours

i rarely have favourites at le mans. but Come On Robert Kubica. if any driver has deserved some luck & success its Kubica. 1 of most talented drivers ive seen blighted by terrible luck

i rarely get emotional at sport, but there is something about robert kubica & living through his story. has finally got the day in the sun that his undoubted talent deserves because everytime he has got close. bad luck as thwarted him. as i said above if any driver has deserved some luck & success its Kubica

Are you a fan of endurance racing and want to see what goes on behind the scenes? This video from the 2024 Lone Star Le Mans at COTA follows Porsche Penske Motorsport through a full WEC weekend, showing how their crew manages the #5 and #6 cars over long hours on and off track.

It also features BMW M Team WRT and several fans sharing what makes the WEC atmosphere so different from Formula 1.

We have missed the start of this season, and we are now two races in. Unfortunately, due to the sad demise of Eurosport in the UK you can no longer watch a free live feed of the races. Anyway, Qatar was cancelled due to the Orange Man starting a war with his Israeli mate. We had a race in Italy, at Imola, with Toyota 1 and 3 in Hypercar, with Ferrari second. Next up was the Belgian race, at Spa, and I was lucky enough to get to go. BMW were 1 and 2. Kevin Magnussen was driving the last stint in the second placed BM and did a sterling job in holding off the 3rd placed Ferrari to allow Robin Frinjs to bring the No. 20 car home first.

The winning Hypercar podium.

My missus with Antonio Felix da Costa (she got special treatment at the autograph session as our son is one of his mechanics in Formula E)

And we caught Nyck DeVries relaxing.

If you want a great overseas race to visit I can recommend Spa, but be prepared to walk up and down LOTS of hills!
