Wonder what telemetry settings F1 cars of today would use for a cobbled hairpin? That would be awesome but will never happen. Even then it was considered too dangerous. Like a small Nurburg, even twistier yet faster, and the topography makes its impossible to widen the current track to modern F1 standards...
Rouen-Les-Essarts was also quite spectacular in its own way. Here's Fangio approaching the unusual cobbled hairpin in his 250F:

Perfect win for Colin Chapman then! The car did fall apart as it crossed the finishing line.
Going back even further: action from Monaco 1933, the first Grand Prix where the starting grid was decided by quickest lap times in practice as opposed to balloting methods...

Olivier , after posting that pic of Sommer at Monaco in 1933 I looked up stuff about him and I was quite impressed by his achievement in winning Le Mans in 1932 because his team-mate LuigiChinetti had to withdraw early on in the race because of illness. So he drove the remaining 20 hours by himself.
Winning Le Mans practically solo, that's gotta be some sort of record surely?
