Bahrain GP Debate

If there's one thing you can't say about Bernie, its that he's financially stupid. Mad as a hatter perhaps, but the pennies seem to end up in in his pockets.

If they take this approach, we could soon see 2012 headlines.

English nationals arrested @ Bahrain Airport, reports in that 27 English residents have been arrested & charged with trying to overthrow the regime by posting articles & text that supports radical groups on F1 forums. The 27 residents from all over the UK arrived Friday for the 2012 Bahrain GP......

The UK Embassy was unable to comment, but a spokesman said for F1, "where's the rug I've got the brush........"

Twenty seven UK nationals arrested. Stop

Protest their innocence. Stop

Lawyers engaged by the Foreign Office have sped to Bahrain in an attempt to secure the release of the British hostages (all believed to be Clip members) held by the brutal Bahraini regime since Saturday. Rt. Hon. Can D Flohss, of partners Flohss Flohss & Flohss Legal Eagle, said, "It is, quite frankly, an absurd situation. At best it is twenty-seven cases of mistaken identity or at worst revenge by proxy. Clearly no Clip contributor, who has actually and in fact or deed criticised the Bahrain regime, would deign to glorify the Bahrain GP with their presence. To do so would be the height of hypocrisy and it is well known that Clip is the pre-eminent home of the most honourable posters on the planet."

As we go to press, rumours of a revolution have been quelled by the revelation that Bahrain still have quite a lot of Saudi's very attractive in white, UK built, armoured troop carriers pootling round the streets. A military spokesmane said "It is just an annual parade that we have decided to have all year round. It keeps our people happy and secured."

Looks like this stink for Bahrain won't go away, no matter how much Bernie glosses over the reality with his media machine......

You just know the workers on the shop floor, the F1 teams & their staff are not convinced what ever Bernie, FIA and the F1 Media gurus say on how rosy it is now in Bahrain.

It is excellent news that the likes of Christian Horner is to bring the subject to the discussion table, cause you know the fact they are bringing it to the table is not because they are looking forward to the race.

My only concern is this gives Bahrain & F1 time to let their spin win the day, as you know the issue around the family/people in charge of the country are not going to give the residents of Bahrain what they want in the form Democracy. The spin machine will push the messages and images that Bernie wants the World to see & justify his F1 and large pay day in the desert.

Not sure by typing this, if I ever did go to Bahrain if Khalifa bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa would arrest me for in-sighting radical groups, we'll never know.

But there lies the problem, I may jest that Khalifa as the Head of Bahrain National Security Agency would arrest me @ the Airport! It's just we know from what we've seen in the pictures and news reports that it's probably true and F1 wants to go there with everyone wearing rose tinted spectacles........

Yes. I understand Bernie has bought a few thousand rose tinted shades from a little known plastics company in the back-streets of Hong Kong. You will get a free pair with your ticket.:)Also in the package are an optional stab vest or Kevlar bullet resistant vest, one can of pepper spray, a US military style steel helmet (in white or an attractive pastel colour of your choice) and a map with directions to a Bahrain Government approved Accident & Emergency clinic. Each visitor arriving in their own motor car can purchase a parking ticket with, for just a few dollars more: an under-vehicle inspection mirror, electronic tracking device detector and a dog trained to sniff out explosives. All PPE and detection devices can be returned in exchange for a refund upon leaving the country - as long as the aforesaid are in an unused and as new condition. Pepper spray and the dog are non-returnable items and disposal will be the responsibility of the visitor.

If it proves that Bahrain is too dangerous to host a GP next season, do you think there's a chance that Turkey could be offer a chance to take their spot in the calendar?
I think so, as there was a provisional 21-race calendar. I think Bernie's using Turkey as a reserve venue, much like Aragon was in MotoGP.

Fingers-crossed Bernie and the teams refuse to go to Bahrain. I would much rather have Turkey on the calendar than Bahrain. The only problem with Turkey is the GP hardly gets any publicity over their, so with a good bit a advertising i'm sure the GP will see more fans go to the GP :).

And it is in the worst location possible (in terms of access).
