2014 / 2015 Silly Season. Drivers Market.

Vettel to Mercedes (for the German dream team)
Hamilton to Williams
Alonso to Mclaren
Hulkenberg & Bianchi to Ferrari
Kvyat to Red Bull
Button to Force India
Lynn & Sainz Jr to Torro Rosso
Vergne to Sauber
Sutil to drown his sorrows with a glass of champagne

Latest Autosport apparently has the following contract details

Rosberg - signed already to 2017

Hamilton - contracted to end of of 2015 and likely to stay

Vettel - contracted to end of 2015

Ricciardo - likely to get an extension on his Red Bull contract

Hulkenberg - has a multi year contract with Force India but can leave if one of the top two teams wish to sign him

Button - Out of contract

Alonso - contracted to 2016 but apparently has a clause which says he does not have to buy himself out if the team fail to finish in top 3 constructors

Raikkonen - contracted until end of 2015 but his comments recently wont help assure Maranello about his performances or motivation

Bottas - a contract with Williams but surely his stock has risen and will get a new one to ward off interests elsewhere

Think Vettel has a clause in his contract that he can leave the team if they don't provide him with a championship winning car.

Button probably will get another year. Although they haven't been particularly happy about him this year, well Ron hasn't.

How do you now and what does "championship-winning car" even mean in terms of legally enforcing a contract clause?

"2013 is fixed for us but, for 2014, there is a performance-related clause in his contract - for him and for the team," the Red Bull advisor told Germany's Bild.

"It depends on the Championship rankings in 2013 but, if Vettel and Red Bull slip in the Drivers' or Constructors' Championship, he could go elsewhere."

Il_leone that Newey crap is getting old.

Marmite - but it is weighing on Vettel's mind

Greenlantern101 I think Button will be retained seeing all the top drivers are not available and need to be bought out

The only one they might go for realistically is Alonso who is witnessing bloodshed at Ferrari with the sackings of personnel left, right an centre and has a clause apparently if Ferrari do not finish top 3 in constructors he does not need to bought out of his contract

then again Mclaren have boardroom rumbles of their own so will it be a case of jumping out of the Ferrari frying pan into the MClaren fire

I hope you are correct Il_leone if Button can sign a 3 year deal it would be great for F1 to have a world champ racing rather than retiring.

It would be interesting to see Alonso in the same team as Jenson. Kimi has gone way down in my estimations this year. It would be interesting to see how Jenson coped with Alonso as his team mate.

Isn;t that a bit strange, so if Alonso knows if on the last race he puts the car in the kitty litter and they finish 4th behind Merc, RB & Williams, he can move.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, but cr4p there is no Kitty Litter.

Greenlantern101

I think Mclaren would give him a 3 year with an option each year rather than the current 2 year with option for 1 more year

Mclaren will definitely have 1 world champion in their car... it attracts sponsors and pleases Honda. Would HOnda get into a situation again with Mclaren where they expect them to sign Alonso and make him No 1

Just a note despite his refusal to move over at Hungary, Lauda has rubbished suggestions that because of it that Hamilton would be replaced Vettel

Clearly the German press (and Helmut) are trying to destabilise Mercedes namely Lewis Hamilton and somehow remind everyone who the current world champion is
