2011 Silly Season

Massa is signed up for 2011 isn't he?

Could they do another Raikkonen and loan Massa out to a rival Ferrari engined team?

In June, Massa agreed to a contract extension until the end of the 2012 season

F1 exists on money and rumours.

"Felipe Massa has signed a two-year contract extension with Ferrari to remain with the Italian team until 2012.
Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali had told reporters at the Turkish Grand Prix that the team’s line-up would remain the same in 2011 and today’s announcement finally confirms that.

Massa’s place was the subject of speculation after a poor start to the season alongside Fernando Alonso, with championship leader Mark Webber and Renault’s Robert Kubica linked with a move in 2011.

Massa’s new contract will see his time with the team stretch beyond a decade next season after first signing with the Scuderia in 2001"

But as we saw last season with Kimi if Ferrari want rid of someone enough they will pay what it takes. Let's hope if they do this to Massa they don't tie him up with a similar contract to Raikkonen effectively pricing him out of another drive somewhere.

Sure they can.If you are pepared to pay enough any contract can be bought out.

No disrespect to Massa, but they did it with a World Champion, so it wouldn't look good for Massa long term...

Of course, Massa is quite a popular driver, so it will be difficult PR-wise to spin that. But they were to drop him 4 years ago till he got a reprieve from Mikey! Can't see Nando doing the same though...

Nothing to do with drivers but the provisional calendar has been released.

Its existing contract ran out this year but I don't know if a new contract was signed.

Has anyone else seen the "Senna to Lotus Renault" stories?

Yeah I've seen a few rumours about it. Will this be a reserve driver spot or is one of the more experienced lads moving on?

EDIT:

The more I think about it, it seems to be too much of a coincidence that these rumours emerge at the same time that the Ayrton Senna film is premiered in Brazil.

If these rumours were more substantial the BBC gossip and rumour column would have made note of this high profile story.

Can somebody explain this lotus thing.

We have group lotus whoar are in F1 but who arn't the orginal Lotus team, but want to be?

We have team Team Lotus who are the orginal Lotus team but are not in F1.

lotus Renault, who are not Lotus never have been Lotus, but want to be the lotus Team

and Lotus software company and Lotus the insect, who are not an F1 team and have no plans to become an F1 team?.

ouch my Head hurts!, this some dasterdly plan to eventually get every team in F1 called lotus?
