Pre-Season F1 2025

I'm sure this calendar makes sense in someone's warped mind... I've never understood why the season doesn't move from continent to continent - given that there are four races in North America, it can't be beyond the wit and wisdom of the organisers to organise them back to back... Possibly even link in the two South American races...

You could even go:
Australia -> China -> Japan ->Singapore -> Brazil -> Mexico -> Austin -> Las Vegas -> Miami -> Canada -> Monaco -> Spain -> GB -> Netherlands ->Belgium -> Hungary -> Austria -> Italy -> San Marino-> Azerbaijan -> Bahrain ->Saudi Arabia ->Qatar ->Abu Dhabi

Yeah but then a rich Gulf state doesn't get the pleasure of kicking the season off.

Your calendar contains far too much common sense thinking.

A lot of thinking in that kind of calendar is based on the assumption that personnel and all the equipment will never return to the base during the season.

Yes, some stupid things like Miami and Canada being isolated are still happening but no more in 2026.

And in general there should be no back-to-backs in different continents.

It used to be the case that flyaways at the beginning and end of the season would mean exactly that - that equipment would be shipped from one destination to another, without returning to base... This often meant that upgrades wouldn't arrive until the European part of the season.

I'm old enough to remember when the flyaway races used to (approximately) book-end the season. However, the fact that Monaco has to be held at the end of May always causes havoc... It would be so much simpler to simply get rid of Monaco, and set a proper season without it!

Two or three races - no problem not returning home between. A different thing if the trip takes a third of the season.

from what i understand the calendar is complicated because the contracts have so many clauses. & due as cider_and_toast prestige of starting the season & finishing the season. their ticket sales. so like Imola & Monza were back to back the fan attendance would dwindle because people would choose either or. same with bahrain & abu dhabi.

Monaco is always final week in may, thats apparantly set in stone. you cant go to Vegas in June for heat

Weather is a key factor for sure. You also can’t go to Germany the first week of March.

Very true. Anyone remember the British GP that took place at Easter one year? That did not go well. And I went to a WEC race at Silverstone in April 2016 where it snowed on the Saturday!
yeah the rain and mud which Bernie blamed the organisers not preparing for it

just seen a clip on sky sports news. Lando norris the bookies favourite to win the world championship this year. im all for supporting the British drivers. i always have. but they need to be realistic, this isnt a head to head battle like we normally have. weve got 5 drivers who have a realistic chance including his teammate. & 7 drivers who can win races next year

You have to say Mclaren ought to be the favourites but Lando needs to step it several notches

yeah mclaren are favourites. constructors champions no doubt. but last year felt abit like vettel at ferrari. Hamilton & verstappen win the title in that mclaren. hopefully he's learnt from his mistakes because brazil was bad. the only time all season he had a realistic shot at the title. he was so error prone

he almost has to be perfect because as we said many times. its not just verstappen he fighting this year
