Suzuka at risk?

The scale of what Japan is experiencing and must overcome is inconcievable to most of us. However, times of extreme adversity often bring out the best in people and I have every confidence that the hard working and resourceful Japanese will overcome their current problems.

Their priorities will have to be housing, feeding and supporting a large population that has just lost everything. To do that they will need to get their economy back up and running. Motor racing, if affected, won't be a priority; something I find totally understandable.

I'm sure Chad didn't intend anything more than to remind us of Haiti but Japan will recover and rebuild much faster; they are in a much stronger starting position than Haiti would ever have been.

It's been a long day already and maybe I've got the wrong tone... apologies to anyone etc.

Just wanted to say my piece...

I agree with everyones thoughts on the disasters and understand the priorities are getting the country back on its feet.

I have much greater faith in the Japanese sorting their problems quickly compared to how America responded to Katrina. Reading different articles, somewhere between 11 and 29% of the population of New Orleans never came back which is quite a sad indictment of the richest country on Earth. In case you've forgotten, Katrina was 6 years ago!

It's been quite a year for natural disasters, at least this one can't be blamed on global warming climate change.

Unfortunately there is always a group of priests somewhere who say its God punishing homosexuality or some other form of 'sin' :givemestrength:

This makes me very sad - Shame is 90% of the people depicted in this weren't even alive in the 1940's and I'd like to add the word "some" at the bottom of the picture.

Maybe the Aztec's were right? This could all be leading up to 21st December 2012.

Alternatively all of these recent earthquakes in Chile, NZ and now Japan could all be linked to the Pacific tectonic plate settling down into a new position as the earth warms and cools, as it has been doing since it 1st grew from that flaming ball of rock at the start of the solar system.

There are people like that all over the world.
I seem to recall similar sentiments were being expressed towards Americans after the planes were flown into the twin towers.

This do to with their free speech act? Adding on Speshal's point, most the Japanese only know stories about the second world war as well. The American Government clearly thought the fines and other punishments were enough, and I wont go into the atom bombs.

Just a note, this is not an attack against America, just the sort of people mentioned in that picture.

like Brogan said, there are people like that everywhere around the world. Just look at the BNP.

And what, prey tell McSup, do you have against the Banque Nationale de Paris? Not liking French people is racism too you know.
