Current Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

I didn't pick-up any info re LH brakes...but I hope Merc/Paddy Lowe have got it sorted

Andrew Benson tweet
"Hamilton is having one of his low-wattage week-ends off track. Very low-key in interviews so far. Looked super-good in the car though." And..." Sebastian ends Merc pole run."

IMO.....Don't think Lewis was a touch frosty, because SV got pole.......edit..
.

Especially Jos, since he was up on Vettel's time by .210s before the Wall of Champions chicane.......:(

Overall though, a good performance on Lewis's part.

ok so apparently lewis had C.I brakes in aus,but because they put too much heat out,he had to go back to using brembo.
but they had been working on the brakes for canada, and this is the first time he has used C.I brakes since aus.
and apparently they will be bringing an update to silverstone for the C.I braking system.

It could be Meph( that he,s a specialist here) the track has lots of fastvdtraights followed by hard breaking....the very thing he generally gets his advantage from? was reading about him in Autosport, good article by Hughes. He said his advantage over competitors at Canada in quali is so great( averaging over 6 tenths) that this weekend could go one of two ways.....

Highlight his difficulties under braking all the more....
Or
Because he generally has such a big advantage , it gives him more scope to experiment and find something that works.

If its the latter, Hughes said he can that take what he learns and apply it to other tracks where his advantage isn't so pronounced.
Fingers crossed he's learnt something useful.

That's not the point........burning tires is less of a concern, rather than the loss of confidence.

Really??? Doesn't matter how much he loves his brakes if the tyres are like marshmallows. Bit of an absurd statement. I think having a car that goes backwards in races is a much bigger concern, unless of course the only benchmark youre setting this season is beating his team mate.

Personally I'm looking at the championship. And am delighted I am given expectations before the season started.

Hamilton does not like being beaten, that's his biggest mental problem, not the brakes.

Well you did say he doesn't like being beaten, and I'm sure your right on that. And the reason he is getting beaten is because he hasn't got the confidence required in the brakes.
To come back to what Lewywo4 said ( correct me if Im wrong here Lewy) the bumming of the tires is less of a concern to Hamilton than his loss of confidence in the brakes because the confidence on the brakes is more within Hamilton's hands to solve. It's his issue, his problem. Whereas the tyre chewing whilst crucially needing sorting, is not so directly in his hands to resolve.

The tyre problems are costing him way more points than having to slightly adapt his driving style. When he is beaten its because Rosberg is better or the others have better cars.
