Jenson Button

Arguably the best ever driver in mixed conditions, all his wins at Mclaren have come in those conditions. His last race win in the dry came at the 2009 Turkish GP.

Button is known for his smooth driving style and is normally seen in must races doing one less stop than his rivals for tyres.

Buttons also know to be a bit of a practical joker and will take part in anything fun.

Since his debut in 2000 Button has won the majority of hearts in this country. But what is your favourite JB win?

Mine has to be Hungaroring 2006, in argubly a midfield team and he won the race in those mixed conditions to take his first win. I can remember James Allen been in tears almost and that was the first race Anthony Davidson ever commentated on.

I do not think his drive was average, unlike other drivers, he didn't lose any places and ZakspeedYakspeed, yeah, forgot about Rosberg. :embarrassed:

As far as McLaren goes, they need to improve massively and need to get a handle on their woes, but if anyone can do it, they'd bet the last team I bet against turning things around. The atmosphere there may be quite good and it may not be all PR, but they know they are in the shit , yet mature enough to do something about it without recriminations at this point, they will come later..

I'm not sure the lap charts support the idea that Jenson would have caught and passed either of the Mercedes. Considering that Lewis at least was in fuel saving mode for at least a quarter of the race.

Sepang laps cars 5-9-10.webp

Well, we will never know.

What I know is that he was maintaining a reasonable gap, until his stop, then he was in 14th, and I am not sure how much traffic he had or not.

If nothing else, he was denied an opportunity to try. FRom what I recall of the interview, the sentiment was akin to saying it may have been possible, unlikely, but possible, which is pretty much the way I see it.
