Expectations

I would like to see the best 24 drivers in the world based on pure talent, unfortunately this is Earth & not Utopia so that will never happen.
What do I expect from a driver?
I expect them to drive by the seat of their pants & extract the most from the car whether it's a front runner or a backmarker, they should finish the race & think 'well I couldn't have done any more' - I hate this eterenal tyre conservation >:(
I expect them to attempt overtaking where a chance exists & not to tootle around the track until they can undercut in the pits.
If they do attempt an overtake or get overtaken I expect them to battle for it but show a healthy respect for the other driver.
That doesn't mean meekly rolling over to let someone past neither does it mean punting someone into a wall.
I hope they will take the bad days as graciously as the good days & come back with spirit on the next race.
If they can do that then I will be happy watching the races regardless of who wins (of course I always prefer my favourites to win!)

I agree with Mezzer who sums pretty much my expectations.Just one other comment the drivers not keeping making excuse such as "I couldn'dt get the tyres o work" or similair excuses. All the cars run on the same tyres so suck it up and get on with it

This is a splendid set of responses, thank you all. On the whole, we all 'expect' the same thing.

So, second question - how can we ensure our expectations are fulfilled?

With respect Slyboogy this is nonsensical.
If you expect the unexpected it ceases to be unexpected, and as such making it a thing to be expected which renders your determinitation to expect the unexpected an oxymoron you have a mathematical probabability of zero per cent of ever actually undertaking.
Logic innit.

I expect drivers to perform when I pick them for my FF1 team. No more, no less.
