Are Lotus serious title contenders?

I always think that Kimi is in with a chance. People tend to forget that in his McLaren days, he was the Gold Standard for sheer speed. I don't think he has lost much, if any pace. With Kimi, I think it all comes down to his state of mind. If he is happy at the team, he flies. If he feels constricted, as in the politically-charged atmosphere that prevails at the Red Menace, he loses motivation. I consider him the last of the "free spirit" drivers, like those of the 60s and 70s.
