2014 / 2015 Silly Season. Drivers Market.

That theory could end up with something like this:

Greenlantern101 I like your optimism and wishful seeing that his predecessors at Toro Rosso were unceremoniously fired although the Moose got a role as 3rd driver

Vettel leaving Red Bull sounds to me a bit of a cowards way out having taken quite a beating like no one has dished out to him in the same team unless he suddenly feels likeHelmut is favouring Ricciardo and making him paranoid that he has to leave

Vettel leaving would really start musical chairs but I can only see Ferrari as his destination but he will have to go up against ALonso who must feel very confident and ready to trounce him

Il_leone Optimism doesn't wait on facts. It deals with prospects. Pessimism is a waste of time. - Norman Cousins. ;)

And I don't agree that Vettel would be taking the cowards way out. He may just be getting out at the right time. Why go down with the ship when you can dress as a lady and get on the life boat to Italy.

gethinceri obviously not mentioned about their future but endorsing your drivers unless you are Flavio Briatore does bring positive signs about what the team management thinks of them and their futures. The fact that neither are being slated for underperforming unlike Ron's warped suggestion that Button should try harder could bode well

Greenlantern101 I see your point as Fangio always moved into the right team, Senna moved when he could not see any more potential in the teams he drove for ( he even got suspended by Toleman for speaking to Lotus despite having a 3 year contract with Toleman)

Schumacher moved when he could see Benetton when he had nothing left to achieve at the team and a bigger challenge at Ferrari

Having said they were regarded as the best drivers and still trounced their teammates

Vettel is not in that situation and might end up looking like Piquet especially if it is ALonso he faces at Ferrari and gets a trouncing

I do think Renault will get their engines right for the turbo era and help Red Bull become less reliant on Adrian Newey

It wasn't Renault it was Red Bull running pretty much no wing. It gave them trouble elsewhere on the circuit.

Horner joked they might just take the wing off the car completely for Monza.

Are you suggesting Lewis will return to Mclaren?

Not gonna put money on it but stranger things have happened.

I'm sure Fernando Alonso is making sure he's on friendly terms with Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda just in case. :)

Well first race of second half and I think the silly season has been kicked into overdrive by what happened today

Mercedes drivers both got contracts for next year but after today one might have to go possibly

Mclaren will not announce their drivers soon and it appears the pressure is really on Button to sort out qualifying as KMag is now beginning to settle. EJ alluded to the point that there are lot of young talents on the grid who would cost Mclaren a lot less than what Button is getting paid

Bouillier has denied that Mclaren have spoken to his protege Grosjean about a possible seat. The target now maybe to refocus on re-signing Hamilton if not Alonso for 2015. Otherwise even Rosberg could be considered

Button's chances of staying in the team looks slim and all the other drives appeared to be filled up unless Ferrari get rid of Kimi and pay him off again

Last year one of the more potentially attractive seat was Lotus- how things can change in a year. Given their current preference in trying to sign at least an established driver to help attract sponsors. Would Button consider a move there and risk his reputation?

---

Williams - Expected to keep both drivers as Bottas continues to impress whilst Massa despite not having much luck and a poor race apparently has signed for 2015

I'm thinking Mercedes are going to terminate Rosbergs contract. Deliberate contact taking your team mate out of the race surely counts as Gross Misconduct.

F1Yorkshire RasputinLives Possibly but it will cost a lot of money to buy out one of their drivers especially if things deteriorate further between the drivers

Now I can see Toto consider swapping Bottas with either driver because both Lewis and Nico have good relationships with Williams t
