I just received a media invite by email for the RB9 launch (I'm sure lots of others have too).

Shame I can't make it

I'd be happy to RSVP on behalf of someone else but it does seem like a bit of a non-event.
No one-to-one interviews will be permitted and only Getty Images will be permitted to take photographs.

So it would be a case of turn up, watch them remove the cover, and leave.

True but it's still an f1 experience and the only cost would be petrol.

Isn't there even a Q&A press conference type of event there?

I would say I shall take lots of photos, but I am not allowed, so I shall bring my crayons and draw what I can see, which, being a shortarse will likely be other peoples shoulders.

I'm hoping Brogan could supply something. I shall then practice my "pointing knowledgably at a bit of the car" and "talking whistfully with my hand on my chin in a pensive manner" poses.

In reality, I will probably end up only in photos looking like a Dick.

Edit: Naturally any media/data collected can only be for The Pits' personal use since publication may betray the source and bring the wrath of RBR onto CTA I would also advise against the spy camera sunglasses/spectacles as an option They are about a discrete as a CNN camera crew.

You could just go ahead and take photos using your phone (assuming that your phone can take photos). The chances of anyone kicking you out are slim. If it is in a public area I don't see that it is enforceable anyway.

Interesting Lotus are so late to announce their launch and then jump in ahead of everyone else.
Some how I can't see Marussia doing the same.
