Sorry, I got stuck with no internet access for the weekend, but we have a winner!! :cheer:

Apparently DC got fined the equivalent of £20 for failing to pay the toll on the demo run...

The car also caught fire on arrival.

Harry Schell at 1959 Avus?

I only asked Indy 500 as it was part of the F1 season in the 50's. Who was the bloke disqualified in Canada for driving too slow? He must have been lapped a few times in another race.

Is this on F1 Rejects? Was it Tom Jones at Canada in 1969?

EDIT: I'm sorry, I'm thinking Al Pease who was DQed from that race for being too slow!

He wasn't that slow in the race, he qualified off the back row, however he kept chopping up the leaders as they lapped him infuriating Mr Tyrell. I think Tom Jones was in 1967 in a Cooper T82 and about 20 seconds away from being let in to race.

As for the race, was it the Glen by any chance, they used to have hundreds of laps there.
