Poll Singapore overtake of the weekend

The data is in, the video is up, so let’s nominate our top passes from the Singapore weekend for a poll in a few days. Not the greatest track for generating inspiring passing manoeuvres, but there certainly were a good number of them.

Alonso and Webber have given us a good show in several of the last few GPs and, Hamilton may have lost sight of his front wing when battling Massa, but he put on a great demonstration of how to use the tools available to you to come back through the field and pass all but the top four runners inside the top ten, not once, but twice, totalling 16 on-track passes!

We missed out on a last lap shootout for the lead, but there was action up and down the field with the faltering Renaults easy pickings and Barrichello missing out on a valuable point in the latter stages to the 'fuming' Massa.

It's got to be either Webbers move on Alonso in turn ten or Massa's move on Perez at turn 1 for me. Can't really decide though. I suppose Webbers would be the better of the two. But i think Massa's pass on Perez was pretty good too.

Lap 10, Webber on Alonso for me, a proper overtake. The two earlier overtakes, Hamilton on the mercs I didnt enjoy as he just drove past them with DRS wide open and was ahead before the breaking zones, no defence possible.

That doesn't detract from the opportunism and the execution IMO.

If you look at the replays, I think you'll see that Webber was being very genereous with his words towards his friend-in-arms Alonso (in his BBC column.)

The Toro Rosso wasn't quite blocking Alonso.

Regardless, these poles are each individual's opinion and Webber's first over-take of Alonso was aided by tyre mis-match whereas this one was on like-vs-like and, as Ninja says, it was 'opportunistic' and 'well-executed' and it was for a higher place and that was him doing Alonso for a 2nd time.

Michael Schumacher on Sergio Perez lap 29 or so, it wasn't a clean overtake but it was spectacular.

I'd vote for Schumacher on Perez where the ex champ decided to take an early test flight towards getting his pilot's licence!

Even though Webber's tires were a bit better, he set up that move beautifully on Alonso. Lap 10 for me.
