Head To Head Nico Rosberg vs Lewis Hamilton

If anyone is referring to the smile from Toto who has come out and stated that shot was preceding before Rosberg went off as he was looking forward to the head to head racing ... yes the TV pictures can play tricks

Secondly Rosberg going off deliberately to let Hamilton win is nonsense all Nico then has to to do is say he fixed the race and they both would be disqualified and then that would probably be him out the Mercedes team

Also that is the sort of PR Mercedes does not need given they are all for the turbo era regulations

In Italy did Merc not run Lewis's fire damaged engine in practice then change it for the race thus keeping race engine on lower miles and the fire damaged one for non-critical running?????
All of the teams have been using knackered or tired engines on fridays. And putting a fresh/fresher one in for Saturday and race day.

Hamilton's broken engine from Hungary I dont think can be used because he said he was down 1 engine in Spa and was worried about doing damage in Spa to that engine

All I saw was Nico Rosberg suddenly realises everyone has turned against him

surprised even the Italian fans booed him !

The fact he cracked under pressure would be noticeable for those who question whether Rosberg can mix it wheel to wheel with the best and whether he is worthy of being world champion

So this idea he did it deliberately is nonsense... he is even not winning fans in Germany for bottling and not showing typical German attitude over the Spa incident and by feebly admitting the mistake. There were expecting sort of Schumacher / Vettel defiance in saying he went for a gap because he wanted to win

- Lewis had cracked under pressure
- Vettel went off when on the lead 2 laps from the end in Canada giving away the lead
- Schumacher took people out
- Alonso, had the most giant hissy fit at Petrov in 2010 when Vettel against all odds nicked it from under him

Who hasn't cracked at some point when a world championship is at stake?

Besides which, Rosberg had a few brake balance issues.

Hamberg

Yes no one is infallible but it was the more the manner Nico surrendered the lead... if Lewis has just cruised up to him and passed him and they were 1-2 . He would acknowledge that Lewis was the faster driver race day and won fair and square.

The fact that having gifted the lead at a critical moment and really that upped Lewis momentum in the race and he was not going to surrender it.

Had Nico held on a few more laps Lewis ' tyres may have been cooked and Nico would have stolen the win.

Nico got booed afterwards but it may not have been as big as issue had he not gone off

Again Nico has not beaten Lewis in a straight head to head race again so Monaco gate is looking more and more suspicious

Il_leone Hamilton did use the fire damaged engine last Friday at Monza.

I know from experience that there are a lot of Brits go to Monza, there's loads of them on the trains on Sunday morning, there are plenty of Hamilton fans among them. This could account for the booing.

Rosberg lost the race due to two errors of equal importance. Had it not been for those then the last few laps would have really been worth watching, but what happened happened.

Bill Boddy Thanks for clearing it up ... Lewis was also worried about the race engine in Spa being knackered unnecessarily

I believe Rosberg's mistakes were down to pressure from Hamilton not as some believe it was a deliberate fix because had that not happened then it would have taken a few laps possibly for Hamilton to pass on his worn tyres

'ALONE AND UNAIDED' RULE
The radical push has been prompted by the theory that a perception that drivers are 'puppets' who simply follow instructions from the pits is one of the factors in F1's popularity decline.
There is also particular concern that drivers are relying more and more on information from the pits about where they can gain laptime, especially in comparison with their team-mates.

This is especially true of championship contenders Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, who have both been fed constant information by Mercedes this season.
Although there is little desire for a total ban on team radio, it is understood that efforts will be made to outlaw specific communications from the pits that help drivers with their performance.

This is likely to come from a strict enforcement of Article 20.1 of F1's Sporting Regulations that states: "The driver must drive the car alone and unaided."

The FIA could make it clear that any communication from the pits that helps the drivers with their performance - rather than being for procedural or safety reasons - is a breach of the rules.

This reinforcement of Article 20.1 can not come soon enough for the Nico vs Lewis battle. If and when it does come we might get to see an end to the ludicrous and destructive Scaletrix Championship. And a proper creative battle between these two talented racers.

...It's unlikely that Friday and Saturday free practice sessions will change and even less likely that Nico and Lewis will lose their access to each others telemetry... but for a brief moment there was a chink of light at the end of the tunnel... :tumbleweed:

Read a great conspiracy theory on Twitter just now - Mercedes are deliberately sabotaging both their drivers in order to allow Ricciardo to win the WDC, thus forcing up his value against Seb's and enabling Merc to snap up Seb to thus form an all-German superteam (presumably with Nico still there). OK, it's a bit shaky but not really any more stupid than some of the other things we've been reading about.
