Well Button 2018 does not non too committal about stepping back into F1 for 2018. Why would he when he can enjoy his time with his stunning girlfriend away from the track?
Interesting thought that Prost basically dampened Alonso's expectations seeing the problems at Mclaren to cool the fire before it starts
1 seat is available at Mclaren seeing Button has pretty much confirmed he is not too bothered about doing another race weekend
1 seat is available at Ferrari given that Kimi drove after the pit stop aand I've never seen him look so disappointed that he did not bother spraying the champagne
Carlos Sainz deserves a top seat and should have been driver of the day
So which bring us back to
If Alonso does not want to stay at Mclaren who should they hire.. I know he is past his best but would Kimi Raikkonen be someone on their list on the basis he is a world champion ?
I think that decision will be made by Kimi himself rather than Ferrari giving him the boot. Perhaps he might like to toddle off to do some WEC races and the Indy 500?
As a complete aside, the FIA got all of the top men running the different series together at Monaco to try and co-ordinate the calender which would give F1 drivers the potential option to try their hand in some different categories going forward. No mention of avoiding a clash with the MOBO awards though so Lewis might miss out
Bernie would love to have all the top men from the other series tell him exactly when there big races were so he could make sure there was Grand Prix booked on the same date as all of them.
Off topic but Formula E and WEC have confirmed they'll be no clashes between them next year! Hurrah.
I think its fair to say that everyone involved in IndyCar may well not be available to attend a meeting on Monaco GP weekend.
Personally, I believe that it would be great to start by ensuring that the 'Triple Crown' races are put in dates where none of the three clash with WEC, F1, Formula E or IndyCar. Therefore, I believe that the Monaco Grand Prix should be held one week later than is currently the case; this could mean the Spanish Grand Prix could avoid the Monaco ePrix too.
WEC and Formula E should utilise August (when F1 is dormant); in particular, August would be a great time for the Formula E championship to be decided. I see Formula E possibly as a true November to August championship, as I don't believe that the September/October rounds actually achieve anything.
