Current Lewis Hamilton

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

Suffice to say, you have to be top dog in your team first, before you can be top dog in the pack. If Hamilton was not concerned about Button, he would be pasting him good and proper.

Perhaps...in Canada...he should have done a Kobi on JB...Instead of avoiding him & ending up pasting the wall. Had he done that...he would be 22 points ahead of him instead of 3 behind.

Lets just be mum on the first point as there are people that have experienced and seen first hand what it was like in that paddock, and they were all foreigners.

Anyways, on the pressure part, I refuse to accept the notion that Button is on one big rollercoaster of luck, I also refuse to accept that just because of scenario X, the team gamble on the setup Y, all that matters is the results, both have had 2 DNF's for totally differing reasons and yet despite this Button is leading the inter team battle. The simple fact that Button is mixing it up with Hamilton, has to some extent taken the focus off Vettel and made Hamilton concentrate more on the inter-team battle.

I know that Button is largely unfancied in the world of F1, but he is by no means a slouch, he is capable of winning races and while to some will seem anti productive for the fans, but it is actually really healthy to have two drivers very capable of winning the WDC.

There is so much wrong with this post I don't even know where to start. So I won't continue.

The Jensons Buttons thread is over <--------- there ;)

If you watched "Forest Gump" you would have seen the part when a guy is running with him asking if he can coin a phrase for him to make shirts, badges etc etc, and the guy runs into doggy or horse doo-doo and exclaims "#$#T" and Forest replies "It happens" and low and behold there was the #$#T happens badge.

Same thing applies, two cars, little space, both racing..........It happens.

I don't know how you can compare feaces left in the middle of the road by a dumb animal to Mark Webber driving at the highest level of motorsport. Tell me again how the same thing applies. I fail to see your logic.

Sorry I thought it was lt was made clear, two cars trying to fit into a small area doesn't often end well.....nobody was trying to attach blame only asked what happened next.

But that is just stating the obvious. actually, the Pauli principle states that no two things may occupy the same space whilst meta-physics contradicts that.

Anyway, besides the point. I don't think anyone is really debating principals of physics here. The thing that is being debated is who had the "right" to occupy that space. Watching your video it seems pretty clear to me that that right was Lewis Hamilton's. remember that we are talking about two vehicles piloted by human beings with instinct and cognitive decision making processes. ;)

I think that Webber should not have been there, like Button should not have been there at Montreal and like Kobiyashi should not have been there at Belgium, sadly while one advocates for "racing", these are the silly consequences the follow.

You mean Hamilton should not have been there at Montreal, surely? If you are stating Kobayashi in Spa, you must have meant Hamilton in Montreal.

Ah, I was refering mostly to the Button/Alonso incident at Montreal, but in respect to the Button/Hamilton incident most would see it as Hamilton got a good tow, Button was bad on the exit, Lewis perhaps chose the wrong side to attack, but Button drove him into the wall. I believe it has been killed but thats how I see it, Hamilton should probably done this and that but that incident was a combination of factors.

My concern these days is not so much that rules are perpetuating a scenario of anti-racing, the rules have seemed to create the monster, drivers are driving without a degree of deferance in differant circumstances and the resultant is that stewards are having to adjudicate on the increasing amount of silly incidents. I think though what is good for the goose is good for the gander and thus there should be no difference in the punishments regardless of who is being punished.
