Head To Head Jenson Button vs Lewis Hamilton

Looking back on this thread I think I may have come across as a massive Button fan, which I'm really not. I just used to get angry at the wild at him not getting his dues for being able to compete with one of the best drivers on the grid. Eveytime he beat or came close to Lewis it seemed someone had an excuse to why and I felt it was a bit unfair on JB. He's shown in the last three years that whilst he can't beat Lewis on a reg basis he's certainly got the speed and skill to worry him. Back in 2009 no one would have thought that so give the boy his dues.

As for Lewis. Well we all know he's amazing and I don't think thats changed in the last three years.

I find it interesting that despite some peoples protestations most of Hamilton's DNF's were through accidents and not mechanical failure, and therefore it was not the teams fault....

At no point did I say or suggest that all the accidents were Lewis's own fault. Anyway as for penalties, off the top of my head I can only remember one race penalty for each driver and they were in the same race which was Canada 2011 for speeding under the safety car for which they incurred a drive through, but I do believe Lewis got some reprimands....

I think this is everything.

The context is missing in most cases, as are investigations which weren't penalised - Button's collisions with Alonso and Hamilton at Canada 2011 for instance.
