You can't back the pack up anymore, ever since the McLaren and Renault drivers used this tactic a few times back in 2005 as they were always close together.

It probably is better to queue now, but back in the refuelling days it was always a mess, yet teams still did it. But you are always going to lose time if one of your cars doesn't pit during a safety car period when everyone else has.

My mistake on the ruling Sly - although if I'm honest I'd still give it a go by putting in the slowest sector times the rule allows and litterally crawling down the pit lane. I reckon I'd get away with it as long as my name wasn't Lewis Hamilton.

But drivers are not allowed to crawl down the pit lane. Lewis Hamilton was not one of the drivers who caused this change in the rules, but if he did offend against the law he should be punished as should any other driver doing the same.

From the FIA Sporting Regulations:

"30.13 At no time may a car be driven unnecessarily slowly, erratically or in a manner which could be
deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers or any other person. This will apply whether
any such car is being driven on the track, the pit entry or the pit lane."

Be careful about jokes involving certain drivers. Flame wars tend to happen even where a comment is meant as a joke.

Think you need to read my post history Bill - I'm a big boy I can look after myself but thanks. I was just joshing around with Sly anyway and I don't think he took it offensively - unless he's like the stewards are with Lewis Hamilton and just waiting for me to slip up so he can mouth off about me.

Oh crap I did it again...............

Me! The Phantom Raspberry Blower of old London town!

Ok this thread has seriously gone off so I'll come back with a question.

How many different engine manufacters have powered a car to a constructors championship? I've only got 5 on my list currently:

Renault
Mercedes
Ferrari
Ford
Honda

Surely more right? BMW?

Once the season has begun and all the cars have been homologated, could McLaren (or any other team) change the design on their nosecone, I know they would have to re-pass crash tests with the new nosecone but are they even allowed to use a new nose or are you stuck with it for the entire season?

Don't see why not, it is no more restricted than the wings, of sidepods.

I've read many articles and studied lots of journals but can someone please explain to an idiot the difference between pull rod and push rod suspension?
There is no difference in suspension performance but a pull rod system can be packaged a lot smaller saving space which is why it is generally used on the rear of the car, which makes me wonder why Ferrari have gone with a pull rod system on hte front of this years effort where space isn't an issue and push rod is a simpler system..

With the news that Lewis is back with what's her face from the pussy girls or whatever they are called and that his break up with her was given as part of the reason his season wasn't as good as it could have been last year.

Do CTA members think this is a good thing or a bad thing for him?

Good & bad really. Good if being back in a relationship helps his racing & he gets back to his peak, but bad if his racing mentality has become partly dependant on his relationship status.

I think I speak for a good majority of CTA members when I say I don't give a shit. ;)
