Pre-season testing in Barcelona 2017: engines laps stat
Engine - Laps
Mercedes - 2675
Ferrari - 2448
Renault - 1863
Honda - 424
Not sure you should be including the Sauber laps in the "Ferrari" total as they are using 2016 engines. (i.e. Sauber's running is not likely to provide any useful data for the Ferrari engine department)

Engines are different but supplier is one

And why is that relevant?

Ferrari's 2016 engines have driven 21 race weekends in 6 cars. A couple laps of testing is not going to teach anybody anything new about those engines. Similarly, the number of laps completed with those engines is not telling us anything about the 2017 Ferrari engines.

I like it. It stands out from the crowd which is good for the sponsors. And the worry with the silver that it had before was that it could have been mistaken for a Merc. Now you are going to know what team you are seeing from a mile away.

Well done Force India. Way to go against traditional color schemes and stand out.

I kinda like it. I like the banter with The Hulk too.

We are lacking a nice bright green colour car on the grid at the moment like an old style Benneton or Jordan. Maybe if Green Giant do a deal to sponsor Sauber?

The only way that is true is if Ferrari are paying an informant. A SPY, working in Mercedes. There is no way they could know about a crankshaft issue otherwise.

SPYGATE

We shall know all by the end of next weekend. Another year of Mercedes dominance would not be great. (Unless you're a Mercedes fan of course).

"It seems to me that in Barcelona the Mercedes had a reliability problem linked to the crankshaft,"

Followed by:

"It is certain that Mercedes will fix the problem before Melbourne"

It 'seems to me' that this is non-news.

What the hell, I'll take news, non-news, pink cars and god-knows what else if it helps pass the time before this season finally gets underway. I am CHOMPING! Or is is champing?
