Pre-Season 2012 New Car Images & Discussion

One more question: Is that Marussia's new car on track today? If so then they are not running a stepped nose in the same fashion as Mclaren. Do you think that this similarity can be followed back to their technical partnership?

That's what I said at the beginning of the week. I, was of course, wrong in my belief that this was their 2012 car. However, I too have been wondering about the technical partnership

Scarbs has picked up on the slot beneath the RB8's nose. He also mentions the RB7 might have had it as well but that no one ever looked from the proper angle to spot it.

And he thinks the letter box slot also serves to reduce the adverse aero effect of the stepped nose.

This is the new HRT logo

But is this the car?

I do hope that HRT can make it onto the grid again this year. I know some see them as a bit of a joke outfit, but they are trying. If they are nothing more than an intermediary for rookie drivers to get into F1 their presence will still be positive. The more seats available the better in my eyes.

The problem being the fact that they could be racing with two old pay drivers and not serve the above purpose. Only time will tell I guess.

Agreed. I am a fan of the large HRT logo on the front. A very proud and regal looking crest. Let's hope they can get some sponsors.

How much do you think it would cost to get "Clip The Apex" written on that car?

I wonder if anyone could work some photoshop magic and get a mock up of a Clip The Apex sponsorship on a car?

Surely HRT would appreciate a lovely logo on their wing and £100 in their pocket more than a blank car. Let's make this happen. :snigger:

They are doing a goob job with their rookie drivers De La Rosa and Karthikeyan. :nah:

Yeah, I do wish that they had gone with at least one new talent. I understand them wanting an older driver if they plan to develop the car, however this is HRT we are talking about and they are not known for their R&D department.

Sort of betwixt and between the stepped noses and Mclaren's solution. Prettier than many, let's hope it's a step forward for them although none of the team look very happy.
