Wikipedia post

Thanks Sup, nice idea

I believe that in line with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines, I personally should avoid making any edits (although I'm not entirely sure on that).

So I'll leave it in everyone else's capable hands.

LOL

That works too.

The tricky part of this will be finding sources that back up the claim that CTA is the number one site when it comes to overtaking statistics. Many forums have posts linking back to the site but we need to find a source where CTA is mentioned in an article, preferably from a news service such as 5live.

For example this article doesn't have sources to back up the information.

Where as this article has numerous sources so would be viewed as a more accurate article.

CTA could also be used to add credibility to other F1 articles on wiki, if we spot any articles that need additional information we can add CTA links which will increase site awareness and reinforce the sites position as the place to go to when needing F1 overtaking statistics.

I merged your thread with the earlier one Sean.

I'm not sure whether it will be allowed to stay or not, I have a feeling pages about web sites such as this aren't permitted.
Good luck with it though :)

P.S. The first external link is incorrect - the domain no longer uses the www prefix so it should just be http://cliptheapex.com

Can we create a Wiki overtaking stats site which has some the headline O/T data and then hyper link to the CTA forum or is that against the principal of Wikipedia?

I think that's outside Wikipedia's scope to be honest, but I'm no expert.

You could though link the stat's in the Wikipedia Formula One portal somewhere, and even edit the China 2010 page to state the highest number of passes in a wet race, or the 2010 season page stating the highest number of passes since...etc. and crediting the site as the source.

Adding information like that to relevant GP pages is perfectly acceptable.

I like the idea of adding an overtaking bit at the bottom of each race review and then putting a link in. Coudl be worth going back thourgh the 2010 season and adding this in. Never edited a Wiki page though - perhaps when I've got less time I'll take a look unless there are any volunteers...
