Television Whats on TV?

There's freeview or whatever it's called now in the Airbnb.

I just misread a program title which was 'Walking like jesus' and thought to myself, wow!, OFCOM has really mellowed over the past 8 years.

watching the robbie williams documentary, & having watch taylor swift doc, film of elton john & queen that get fame at a young age. it probally not talked about enough that it feels that for the huge megastars. its when not if you have a breakdown. when all the media pressure eventually makes you crash

Race against the world finished last night. ive no idea who won because ive only finished ep5. as i got behind as you do with shows you watch together. but i have seen that the final got 7.1m viewers last night. which is amazing that its become arguably 1 of BBCs biggest show

just shows that sometimes people launching tv shows need patience & as many now are hugely promoted have big budgets & are expected to be a hit straight away with his rare. was likely the downfall of chris evans top gear yes it was crap but it was always going to be hiding to nothing because you cant invent 20yrs of friendship overnight

& i think of some of the biggest shows of the last 20yrs & what most have in common are that in comparison is they flew under the radar for their 1st couple of series. top gear, Bake Off, taskmaster all didnt start turning into the juggernauts they are & were until series 4. nobody really watched the 1st series of Ted lasso as it happened but it spawned into this global phenomenon around the middle of series 2

Yep, great programs fly under the radar, get bigger, reach a peak of creativity and viewers, jump the shark and fall flat on their arses.

House of the Dragon - good grief, it's so fucking boring!

I'm 4 episodes in and losing the will to live.

I watched Foundation. Weird that it has the same name as the Asimov books but is completely different.

I've read the entire Foundation series. A couple of them were hard work but it's well worth the read if you like that sort of thing.

I think it was helped by the fact that when I read it the series started with the prequel "Prelude to Foundation" which sets the scene for the series more clearly.

I'm a fantasy and sci fi nerd so have everything by Asimov.
I was just annoyed how the story is so different as well as the character gender changes.

Oh, and have you watched Season 4 of The Boys yet Brogan ?
Yes.
Very disappointed.
They just parroted reality instead of doing satire.
I'm not surprised season 5 is the last one - they've clearly run out of ideas.

My thoughts exactly.

They've wasted Butcher as a character.

The whole thing was a mess in terms of script and pace.

I'm guessing that the final scenes of the season will connect to the second season of Gen V and then we'll have to wait another year for the grand finale.

We watched the last episode of Top Gear / The Grand Tour tonight.

A bit of a half assed greatest hits. All the usual gags as before but with the mention of this being the last time thrown in every 5 minutes.

A bit poignant at the end but it had definitely run it's course.

It will be interesting to see who Prime relaunch the Grand Tour with as they claim they intend to continue with the program.

Fucking Netflix!
Again!

Once again they ruin a series.

The Umbrella Academy was reasonably good for the first 3 seasons.

Season 4 started poorly and had a couple of rubbish characters but I figured I'd give it time.
Then on episode 6 it was all over with a dreadful conclusion.

Apparently Netflix decided half way through the season to can it.

It has overtaken Lost for the worst series ending ever.

what about house of cards that was pretty dreadful ending. shouldve ended after series 5 or 6, & ended in 6 or 7 with that dreadful series with the wife as president & leaving you with more answers than questions

Watched the first 3 episodes so far.

Yes the cars look great but where do I start.....

The same race track used over and over again to represent 10 different circuits. Mountains in Norfolk?

So many ridiculous stories, bending, twisting and even creating new truths when Senna's life is so fascinating it doesn't need any of it.

The number of factual errors would take me most of the night to list.

The dubbing is atrocious. I would have preferred the scenes that should have been all in Portuguese to have been in that language and with subtitles.

Did I mention the factual errors?

I'll watch it all because visually it's quite nice to see actual racing footage but once again it creates an unnecessary mythology around Senna that does nothing for his legacy.

Oh, and one last thing, there's numerous factual errors.

Didn't watch the Senna movie, won't be watching the TV series.

I have just started on the whole back catalogue of How I met Your Mother. Nearly at the end of the first series, only 8 more to go.

Has anyone watched Senna on Netflix?

The first couple of episodes are truly terrible. The cars are beautiful though
i havent yet, the trailer did look good but the reviews from you & cider_and_toast is worrying, the same circuit used for multiple venues is what ruined rush. Maranello - no its final corner of brands hatch, Nordshiefle - no its turn 7 & 8 of brands hatch

the movie is brilliant, because its a filmed home footage. so you feel like your with him living his life

I don't want to pick a fight F1Brits_90, but the movie is biased and voyeuristic. Senna is the "hero", Prost the "villain". What utter toss. I left my family to watch it without me when they showed original footage of Roland Ratzenburger being given heart massage track side at Imola. Totally and absolutely unnecessary.
