I'm pretty sure Vettel came out infront of that battle of di Resta, Grosjean, Webber and Perez, as I remember the Sky commentators saying it was going to be tight and that Vettel was going to come out in the middle of that pack, but instead came out a second or so ahead.
Then on the same lap the crash happened behind Vettel.
Although I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened as in the lap by lap stats, it shows di Resta behind Vettel in 5th after the incident.
