Mexico City now adds another new gimmick to F1 circuits with the course running between two grandstands. After the night race in Singapore, the day night race in Abu Dhabi, which also come complete with a pointless underground pit exit, the emasculation of Hockenheim and the Osterreichring, what other gimmicks might we see at future F1 circuits from your friend and mine, Herman Tilke?

Surely only a matter of time before a series of corners that spell out a track sponsor. Of course this might get expensive as the sponsors change

• Outside lane to be painted in garish colours/Latvian flag as appropriate
• Run off area? Dig up some countryside.
• Chicanes too close to end of straight = not just short of overtake without DRS
• VIP area staggeringly small and not in pit lane
• Needlessly offset start-finish line?

With teams now placing the great and the good in glass boxes at the back of their garages I think Herm should consider a glass section of track to allow the esteemed members of the paddock club to stand under it, watch the cars zoom over it and get even closer to the action.
