The 2012 Calendar

As it seems Austin won't be hosting any races apart from dirt bike racing in the immediate future does this mean Turkey gets its place back?

I really wish it worked like that Yorkshire because I love Turkey but I'm betting not. Cue Grand Prix in Qater or somewhere.

Syria maybe?

Mr Ecclestone does seem to be having some problems over the past few years with circuits.

Spa off then back on again.
Canada off then back again at a reduced rate.
Donington Park.
Germany alternating between two circuits to save money.
Malaysian prime minister saying that they are not getting value for money.
China having to use cardboard cutouts to make it look as though someone has turned up.
Turkey, he took it over and still it's a big money loser and now gone.
Korea has run two races but may not run any more.
The US don't seem to be able to get a team on the grid or guarantee his funds.
Bahrain, where the population was, and may well still be, revolting.

Did I miss any?

Axing the British Grand Prix then not.
Fuji pulling out of the rota to save money.
Melbourne saying they're not getting value for money.
Monaco dithering between F1 and FOTA.
The France farce.
The universal unpopularity of the Valencia Street Circuit.

The latest calendar released by the WMSC/FIA today shows the US GP still in place.

I think there's another WMSC meeting next week though so it will probably be dropped then, unless they cut a deal with Bernie.
