Proposed Miami Street Circuit

Despite all the concern about another street circuit this looks quite good to me. Baku-like with the two long straights.

Maybe the right-hand part could have been fleshed out a bit instead of just having the hairpin, but the hairpin could be good.

Long straights have slipstreaming in mind. We've seen in Baku how the long straight encouraged genuine, DRS-free slipstream-overtaking - and given what we saw there I'm a fan.

If it's true that Miami is going to have a 10 year contract and COTA doesn't get their contract renewed then this is a negative overall. Street circuits are not all bad and Baku has proven the last two years to be a fantastic race, but if Miami ends up replacing Austin it would feel like a step back for the U.S. in my opinion. COTA is a fantastic facility and the track is one of Tilke's better designs and I would hate to see it go.

So we have dusk racing, night racing, tunnels, underground pit exits, a section so narrow only one car at a time can go through and now a stupid fucking bridge is proposed. Is F1 so devoid of anything entertaining happening on the track that it is having to resport to track gimmicks to try and attract fans? Please put it back on to race tracks where the circuit offers some sort of challenge.

I vote for an upside down section to see if they really can drive on a ceiling due to their downforce. What could go wrong.

My favorite personal F1 memory is attending the United States Grand Prix in 2013. FP1 was delayed because of heavy fog and we were a little late getting to the track that morning as well. When you exit off the highway to park at COTA you can't see much of the track on a clear day and we couldn't see any of it due to the lingering fog. However, while sitting in traffic there was a sudden break in the silence as the cars fired up for FP1 and left the pit lane. Hearing those V8's scream so loud you could hear them inside your car from a half mile away was the best possible way to start that weekend.

Singapore circuit also consists a bridge, or actually two. Valencia also had one (and I think few were concerned about the small bump on the edge because of it)

Hey, Suzuka has a bridge but nothing on the scale of this monstrosity. I take your point about it no being new Bleu but this proposal is extreme. Also, how is anyone supposed to watch the race or are they planning to put in floating grandstands?

Extreme I like. There's plenty of non-bridge track to view from, and if you’re at the hairpin you'll have an amazing view.

... well, as I suspected. Topographically flatter than a proverbial pancake but for the bridge. Cross-winds would provide some entertainment. Unfortunately, I can't see Liberty Media missing the opportunity for sell-able ad' space on a couple of kilometer long billboards.

... not sure I'd like to open the DRS full chat over that without wind breaks either side. Scarier than the Mulsanne Straight but shorter!

It does look like they are going to use the long straights over the bridges as part of the circuit. How do you recover a vehicle from the sea if the car goes airborne off the bridge ?
