Current Lewis Hamilton

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

Agreed vintly. If I supported him because of his personality I’d be a little screwed, he’s, well, a knob. I love his racing though.

That's the thing, no matter how good a driver is, I can't want them to win if I don't like them as a person. Maybe that's a female thing, but it's how I am. I was a big Alonso fan until Singapore-gate when he looked down the camera and blatantly lied. Once he'd done that (among other things) I went right off him and the lovely signed picture I have of him came off the wall.

Impressive set of stats.

I think Schumacher's wins from 3rd or below are slightly distorted by the fact that he raced in the era where you could run on low fuel qualifying. The real impressive one for wins off the front row is Prost!

Lewis Hamilton was removed from the Mercedes media sessions list for today due to an 'unavoidable personal commitment'.

I thought it might be fun for us all to take a guess what that might be.

I get the impression that it was Mercedes not wanting to be embarrassed by another rush of blood to the head, leading the mouth chopsing off before engaging brain... "Tricks" of the Ferrari, for instance...

'unavoidable personal commitment'

I hope that this phrase does not hide anything tragic.
So I see nothing funny in finding interpretations of this phrase.

The phrase for something bad olegg is usually 'family/personal emergency'. Personal Comitment is usually used for when someone would rather be somewhere else.
