Current Lewis Hamilton

A place to put all the posts from all the other threads primarily but love him or hate him, and even for the indifferent amongst us this is the place to discuss the marmite that is Lewis Hamilton, to learn a thing or two about his rise, talk about those controversial, genius or mad moments and something that i am bemused by, the recent articles that suggest something quite different to my perception of what's going on. Any experiences of meeting LH?

Brundle had to write a Lewis Hamilton article recently and in my tweets (which were probably ignored) I asked him to talk about LH the driver not LH the personality. It seems that you can't have one without the other.

So as a starter for ten, here is a fairly recent LH article. Posts should not be limited to this link but it can get some discussion going. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/formula_one/13755883.stm

The only banned topic as it is clearly ridiculous involves these four things "Glock" "2008" "Brazil" "conspiracy"

You wouldn't believe he is the victim of arbitrary decisions would you Sarinaide - forgive me but you are hardly in a position to provide lectures on fanaticism.

Of course Lewis is going to attract criticism and fanaticism - all the exceptional drivers do: Senna, Schumacher, Alonso....

:goodday:

the only thing I don't believe is that he is the victim of arbitrary decisions, I also don't believe that he is not on a level playing field.

Lewis not the victim of arbitrary decisions???.......I believe that on several occassions, Lewis has been on the receiving end of some very arbitrary decision making made by officials. One being that outrageous decision by the FIA ( Alan Donnelly ) to punish Lewis, because of complaints of so-called erratic driving behind the safety car during the 2007 Japanese GP. They sent representatives to the following GP at China, and were considering penalyizing Hamilton 10 places on the grid, and which some evidence being taken into consideration was, a video on You Tube shot by a fan in the grandstands......not by the many camera's that the FIA have placed all around the track, but a video on ....You Tube!

Being penalized at China was something that weighed heavily on Hamilton's mind.

I hate to point this out, but he was given no punishment. It would be ridiculous for the FIA, given new evidence, not to consider it. That could lead to a miscarriage of justice.

I hope you're defending some of the loons in London over the next few weeks Lewy as, in some cases, the only evidence the Police have is camera phone footage taken by some bloke standing by the side of the road. If you can get that deemed inadmissable you're on for a big pay day.

The point is.....this shouldn't ever had gone in the direction of penalyzing a driver, because another driver runs into the back of his teammate, behind the safety car.......Is Lewis really responsible for driving 2 cars at once?.......I know that he's good, but even Hamilton isn't that good!

The police in your example may only have had footage from camera phones to use, but that was not the case for the Mt. Fuji racetrack. The track officials had the use of onboard cameras on both drivers and the safety car, camera's positioned all around the track, accounts by drivers involved, and could find no problem with all of the assets that was at their disposal.

The loons in London as you say FB, would hardly receive any sympathy from me, so I guess that will have to be one big pay day that I will just have to miss.

.

And now it turns out that the feds (police) were over enthusiastic in prosecuting on the basis of mobile phone and youtube camera evidence

Why, they have had to release chavy looking hood wearing chaps from prison because of mistaken identity, appears as though official fixed site security cameras are judged as more reliable and therefore admissible than public supplied mobile 'on the fly' footage
