Movies Film Thread

I watched Serenity last night. I don't think the director really knew what sort of film he was trying to make but it wasn't too bad.

Firefly was one of the few series that I really liked, so naturally they cancelled only about half-way thru the first season. The stupid thing there is that I bought the series DVDs and several of the non-aired episodes were, IMO, the best ones they made! Why they didn't show them earlier, I don't know.

We just watched the "Pirates of the Caribbean" last night, for the first time something like 5 years. What an entertaining film, and a perfect vehicle for Johnny Depp.

You missed the porn version?????LOL

I remember that one.
My step brother worked in a video shop and brought it round for the family one afternoon ( I must have been about 10 at the time)... It didn't stay on for long but was kept in the house for a while ;)

I have been frankly surprised by how much I enjoyed "Edge of Tomorrow" - not being a particular fan of Mr Cruise - but I think it's the best Sci-Fi thing I've seen in ages...probably since "Serenity", in fact!

I was lent the box set of "Firefly" by a friend, which sat unwatched for 18months, until I bought a 2nd hand copy of Serenity from Blockbusters for £2 - needless to say, the dust got blown off it and it was consumed in about 2 nights, as I had to find out the backstory to the characters in the film in which I'd just been totally absorbed.

Just watched Interstellar.

I believe it may be the first move we have ever paid for from Sky.

What a great movie.

I didn't get it, how can planets be orbiting a black hole and still have daylight and sustain life?

No scrub that, how can planets orbit a black hole? A black hole doesn't leave debris behind to make planets
