Testing fuel consumption, all data needs a baseline to work to. I always thought it would be something they do in the 1st test but it's a common occurrence pre season.

snowy Were Massa and Hamilton's race simulations done at the same time? They don't look comparable at all, Hamilton is a a few seconds faster pretty much throughout.

Ah it all makes sense now! Did Mclaren think they were at testing in Spain last year when Hamilton ran out of fuel?

Lewis started his simulation 25 minutes after Felipe, so there was about a 12 lap difference between them. So track conditions were completely different for at least half of the race distance. However it is interesting that once the track dried Lewis was simultaneously lapping at the same pace and often quicker with more fuel on board than Felipe.

Felipe has not always excelled in changeable weather...

Yet another wet testing day :disappointed: but the weather looks much better for Saturday and Sunday.
