Pre-Season Jerez Test 10-13Feb

Jenson still isn't doing any significant runs or getting any where near enough laps in. :disappointed: I wonder if it is the problem with his butt again?

It is interesting comparing Spainish media's live coverage and the British. The Spanish have half a dozen sites covering the testing and the UK has one (as far as I can determine). If Fernando Alonso so much as farts the Spanish media reports it instantly, details of his runs laps times are constantly updated. Autosport have hardly even mentioned when Jenson is on track, they have made little or no attempt to ascertain what he is up to, haven't listed any times or quantified any of the runs he has completed...

It's very depressing comparing the two. :disappointed:

Perhaps they don't want to appear biased?...

Schumacher times for a stint set earlier in the day:

1.22.868

1:25.782

1:24.937
1:24.860
1:24.890

Shame about Virgin. They need all the on track time they can get to maximise the development of the car.

I guess Nick Wirth has to be optomistic. He can't really come out and say the cars a bucket of junk and at this point we are in deep poop.

Is the track now dry?

It's been a funny couple of days so far. Not like Valencia where there were clear leaders and clear chasers. It would seem that at the moment it's any ones guess. STR seem to have found some pace at this track for example.

It is very difficult to tell what the state of play is until they start doing race simulations and obvious qualifying trim runs. But eventually they will have to do them and all will be revealed.

Going to be very wet tomorrow, so they should pull their respective fingers out this afternoon... :bored:

Jenson currently lapping in the 1m24's

Autosport still haven't clocked that he is on track. :disappointed:

In fact Jenson has completed another 12+ laps without Autosport noticing a single one!!! :givemestrength:

Some Spanish for you to translate:

15:16 h Button está rodando en 1:23 medios, Schumi en 1:25 medios y Kobayashi en 1:23 bajos

15:14 h 1:24.853 para el inglés de McLaren; 1:25.238 para Schumacher y Kobayashi que rebaja su marca personal y la sitúa en 1:22.444

Autosports entries whilst Jenson is on a long run:
14:23 Ten laps so far for Schumacher on the current run

14:18 Kobayashi makes an improvement of three tenths, to a 1:22.444

14:15 Schumacher on track with, apparently, a lot of fuel onboard. It could be the start of the long run

14:12 Webber completes a seven-lap run and returns to the garage

14:10 Alonso back in the pits after another 10-lap run. He's done 99 laps so far

14:05 Mark Webber returns to the track after around 30 minutes and improves to a 1:22.043, still seventh quickest

(unless Hamilton tops the time sheets by a huuuuge margin for the next two days)

It's one possibility, however tomorrow is supposed to be very wet. Then again it was supposed to be wet today and although it did rain this morning, it only lasted 15 minutes maximum and was fairly light.

Ferrari and Fernando Alonso haven't shone as brightly as they did in Valencia, is that because they don't want to attract attention or because they're no longer in a league of their own I wonder?... :dunno:

 The Red Bull still hasn't shown it's true colours but it's stable mate has been flying and attracting all the glory.

Kobayashi steals the honours at the very end of the session! :D

No word on Button's failure as yet...

One thing I'm pretty sure about is that last year the Merc engine was the one to have. This year, well so far it looks like the boys from Maranello have designed a good 'un

That's Ferrari, Sauber Ferrari and STR Ferrari all topping the time sheets at various times throughout testing so far.

Which is lovely, but if they're starting the races with 15kg more fuel than the rest...
