ITV to show BTCC in HD

ITV has extended its broadcast deal with the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship and confirmed plans to air the event in high definition.

I don't want to put a dampener on this but aren't ITV planning to make their HD services subscription?

It might have been the early hour but I seem to recall after Phillip Island the BBC mentioned that the next Moto GP race from Estoril will be in HD

They are only planning to show them on Sky, but I suspect they will probably be free to view on there (i.e. no subscription required).

Not sure if this means you have to have a SKY subscription or if you will have to pay extra for ITV HD.
