i know of police squad, but never seen the original's, but i still loved the naked gun it was silly, decent plot & plenty of sight gags like bringing Cold cases out of the freezer. then chilli dog scene & the thermal imaging spy scene just hilarious

Back in the early ‘90s, the BBC showed the entire Police Squad series…. It seems mad that there were only six episodes, but certain things stick in my mind - for example, every episode finished with a freeze frame - well, all of the actors froze, but the camera kept running. I never understood why it didn’t succeed as a series!

There's a new Wes Anderson movie out WOO HOO!
Such is my lack of film knowledge, I had to look him up.

I know the names of his films but haven't seen any of them.

Yes, I admit it, I can be a cultural heathen at times.

i never knew it was a tv show, but it weird the same format hugely successful as a film but not a series. but all 3 films are on ITVx

although at least ive realised what the soccer am joke was for a few years

There's a new Superman movie.
Yes, yet another one.

Absolute total garbage.

The entire story and characters are ridiculous.

I have never understood the whole idea that a bald loser guy was his most powerful enemy.

I'll take the Henry Cavill version over this one any time.

The biggest problem, for me, with Superman, is that he is too powerful. The only way of him facing a threat is by either pairing him against other Kryptonians (who are equally as indestructible), and cause massive collateral damage, or, to use a magic stone (kryptonite) to make him weak.

In my view, the only "good" Superman movie was Superman 2 (the Richard Donner cut).

Superman - This was basically remade into "Santa Claus the Movie" - and even though the epic nature was reasonably good at the start, the entire movie is ruined by the macguffin of turning back time at the end

Superman 3 - this was basically turned into a comedy
Superman 4 Eurgh
Superman Returns - Forgettable
etc...

i heard terrible things about the superman, the main because of how people dont like superman get beaten up & how he now he needs help with their version of DC avengers coming to help. it ruins the illusion of superman. i watched some of the old superman in 80's the 1 that ends up in some crystal or ice palace

but then in its defence appartantly the advice, ive heard is that if you know superman through the comics, you will love it. if you know superman through the TV/movies, you will likely hate it.

Haven't seen it yet, but 28 weeks later wasn't much cop. Certainly not a patch on 28 Days Later.

If only, I don't know, movie studios could come up with, perhaps, some new ideas, maybe, every once in a while, rather than milking to death any and every movie which has made some money at the box office. The number of "live action remakes", prequels, and sequels is mind numbing.

The new fantastic 4 movie is just stupid

It's set on an alternate earth.

They have space ships and faster than light travel but still have cars from the 60's, box cameras with flash bulbs, TVs and computers with CRTs.

How did this ever get approved?

A House Of Dynamite

A good movie, if not a bit repetitive ... right until the end, and then it is one of the worst movies ever.

What a waste of 2 hours of my life.

I watched "Shadow in the Clouds" last night for some Halloween B-movie silliness. It did not disappoint, it's terrible! Worth a watch as literally every choice they made score, plotting, twists...etcetc was the wrong one, it's spectacular in how bad it is.
