Gaming F1 2011

Firstly, great recap Viscount. Summarized everything really well.

My race was a lonely one. I qualified third (1.3/5secs off the top pace, quality laps from the top two). Jos started last. I had a good get away but paper myself going into turn one (didn't want to hit anyone), Alonso jumped me and I attempted a lunge up the inside of turn 1 to retake third. Out of no where I see the back end of a Mclaren come up beside me in a spin. I was unable to view the replay and hope that this was not my fault.

For the remainder if the race I constantly lapped .3-.9 of a second slower than the top two who were driving extremely well. The AI cars never really troubled me and I cruised home for second and 18(?) championship points.

If I was at fault for Jos' spin then I will start from the back of the pack. I leave my fate in the hands of the stewards (you).

I was actually taking one of TBY's quizzes when Qually started and only went out with 6 minutes left on the primes. I was stumped to see a 1:21 by Bushi and knew I was not getting Pole! I started a disappointing last but had a great strategy.
I had a rocket start and overtook all of the AI and saw a gap down the inside and started braking and then I was and sent into a spin, I was hoping he was penalised! Personally, I blamed Westy, I got away unscathed but I was at least 10 seconds behind Di Resta and pushing too hard I lost my front wing. I came out in no mans land 29.997 seconds behind Di Resta and got lapped by Bushi getting well out the way, while pushing like crazy again, I hit the wall and got a puncture however Bushi was behind me again and coming into Turn 3 he was about to lap me (with a puncuture) tried going right, but saw Viscount coming saw I tried to stay in the middle while they went either side of me. Unfortunately, while braking (with a puncture) I locked up and hit into Bushi and Viscount made an easy pass. I then binned it into a wall and turned my attention to watching the battle between Viscount and Bushi, with Bushi rapidly closing in being much faster but not being able to get passed. Then on the straight on the run down to Turn 3 I think it was, Viscount went to the inside to defend and hit a wall lost a wheel and was out. Westy had a quiet race and came home for an easy 2nd.

I was a bit confused at the start, cause on my screen it said i was still on pole. Had a good battle with Viscount during 10laps, but unfortunately he ran against an invisible wall. Looking forward to the next race.

Well Jos, for causing your spin I will start from the back next time out.

Hopefully more people will be able to show up next time as it won't be so thrown together at the last minute.

Would have joined, but was a bit busy at the time - will join next time.

As an aside, does anyone else have issues driving Valencia? I just can't seem to get into any kind of rhythm at all, I'm missing my braking and turning points all the time. Probably lack of visual cues or something, what with all the blue concrete walls.

I struggle at all circuits apart from the ones stated above and Monza!

Also current standings:
Bushi 25
Westy 18
Viscount 4
Jos the Boss 2
The championship is still wide open!

With a decent setup it's a pretty good track. Although that first corner can be tricky.

I don't like the nurburgring,
Buddh
circuit, Korea and Abu Dhabi.

None of those circuits including Valencia don't really have a flow, Nurburgring is not too shabby.

Anyone want a race? I feel like a race...

No AI cars sounds okay with me. I enjoy racing against them but I understand your point of view.

Malaysia has some difficult corners in it, names the second to last corner. An ever tightening right hander that has absolutely no camber to help the driver. It is deceptive as it appears quick and then turns into a slower bend.

Are we all keeping the same cars? That might be better so we can more easily recognize each other
