Norbert is probably worrying more about the possibility of Marussia taking over Daimler Ag and forcing them to merge the F1 team with HRT, and change name to Skoda Smirnov and employing Pastor as main driver

Germans don't like being taken over.

Norbert still answers to his bosses and explain why is not the team delivering. When he asked the same questions being engine partner to Mclaren why weren't Mclaren winning with the Mercedes engine.

If Mclaren can win with a Mercedes engine then why can;t the Mercedes team win with the same engine is what those corporate .muppets in Stuttgart will ask him

'Because it takes time'

Is likely to be the answer as the good burghers of Stuttgart will be told, while pointing to McLarens pedigree as well as maybe pointing to the amount of time it took Ferrari to buy their way to domination

The Bavarians might even get a slide show illustrating what happened when the Japs came along spent money and left with nothing.

Especially as its the team they've been trying to takeover for 15 years but Ron sold his shares to some rich Arabs so there is no way Mercedes could get hold of the shares

and its the team with the driver they dumped..like I said the only nightmare for Mercedes is if Button becomes world champion in a Mclaren Mercedes before Mercedes win the drivers title

Norbert puts on a brave face in front of TV that Mclaren as engine partners earn success powered by Mercedes but the boardroom people will have a different view especially if the "Silver Arrows" are left trailing miles behind
Yes agreed, and if you recall last season they (Nico) had three podiums. Schui has improved this year but not a podium between them so at least in relation to the (same) three teams in front of them they've gone backwards.

Mercedes don't like waiting around for success .. they did not wait around to ditch Sauber who they worked with in sportscar and jumped to Mclaren at first opportunity. Like I have said even when Mclaren won in 1997 in Melboure Norbert was still being asked " Are you sure we are meant to be in F1 " when GT championship or Indycar would be better off for them to have more success

If Mclaren did not get Newey and build a top car for 1998 and 1999 Mercedes would have been off again
Those corporate muppets won;t accept failure and get impatient. Mercedes got 4 technical directors next year
- BRawn, Bell , Willis and Costa so if the 4 of them can't come up with a good car there is serious questions to be asked

That may be a case of too many cooks?

What would help would be if they can get someone who cooks the books so that when they spend oodles of money it appears as the odd few pounds euros. Maybe an approach to Red Bull waving engines might help them find the answer. ;)
