I suppose it for those who get a kick out of watching crashes but personally I prefer stuff to do with close battles, skills and cars...

Why? It's a joke regarding your previous post, surely you see that. Anyway, it does raise an interesting point. Close battles and skill is what sport is all about, I love it in all sport (except basketball, for some reason I'd rather watch dust settle), but only in F1 do you get truly scintillating crashes, which I find undeniably exciting. Tied-in with the excitement is the knowledge that the monocoque is so safe that it would take a truly weird scenario, probably not to do with wheel-to-wheel racing for someone to die in an F1 car now (Bianchi incident).

The Australian race comes fourth in the list - partly due to that crash.

The object of motor racing is to be on the very hairy edge of a crash, a bit of wheel banging and leaning is fair game but a crash ( excepting car failure) is a failure of skill, one watches F1 for its skill not a load of amateurs in dodgem cars.

Having stated the above, maybe the odd driver is entitled to an off day but keep it down to the number of fingers on one hand over a career otherwise they enter the also rans, Nico is getting close as is Seb for their agesLOL

The object of motor racing is to win. The object of motor racing has nothing to do with being on the 'hairy edge of a crash' (nice choice of words btw). And one watches F1 for entertainment, which encompasses competition, cars, speed, skill, glamour, technology, danger, personalities – all sorts, the whole caboodle – not just skill. I can get skill watching chess.

Alonso spinning past the camera, rolling through the air at a serious speed, inches away from the lens (so it seemed), then managing to walk away from the wreck after it eventually came to a standstill - that was awesome. It being the first race of the season I remember thinking 'Wow what a start, what a race.' It stuck in my mind as a high point.

Of course, without skill and all the rest of it, a bunch of crashes one after the other would be a stupid spectacle. I think many people have a default setting that says 'I can't condone getting excited about things that might be Bad for people.' Well I say bollox, I'm all up for being entertained by a bit of danger. I'm not going to cry if they get hurt. Yes we want excellent, clean, respectful racing - doesn't mean crashes aren't memorable.

Singapore middle of the table, but Malaysia straight in at no. 2

It isn't the first time that WDC competitors have not been able to overtake there. Yet another circuit that is not fit for purpose but pays plenty of money into the F1 coffers. Yes, I do include Ferrari.
